The Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 of Chesapeake City , Maryland responds to calls in the town of Chesapeake City and outlying areas. This includes responses into the towns of Elkton, Hacks Point, Cecilton and into nearby Delaware. The company houses equipment in two stations located on each side of the C&D Canal. Our members are trained in fire suppression , rescue and emergency medical care. We also respond to emergencies on the C&D Canal and nearby waterways with our boat, Fire /Rescue Boat 2.

Chesapeake City Volunteer Fire Company's Chief, Thomas Morris was invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Baltimore Orioles game on August 8th, 2011.
Accompanying Chief Morris on to the Orioles' field at Camden Yards was Assistant Chief Paul Wildey, Louis Morris and Cathie Morris. Chief Morris was honored to throw the first pitch to Baltimore Orioles' pitcher Chris Tillman who served as catcher for the ceremonial throw.
A group of members also attended the game to witness this once in a lifetime opportunity for Chief Morris and cheer him on. Finishing the evening was a exciting edge of the seat game, which came down to the last swing.
Chief Morris gave Orioles pitcher Chris Tillman a gift of a 100th year Anniversary shirt and in return, Tillman autographed a keepsake shirt for Chief Morris.
Engine 2 and Ambulance 291 was honored to lead the parade for the Children of Port Herman for a Independence Day parade.
On May 21, 2011 The Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 of Chesapeake City , Maryland visited with some of the patients and families of ALFRED I. du PONT Hospital for Children of The Nemours Foundation in Wilmington, Delaware. Our Firefighters, EMS providers and Fire prevention Ambassadors got a chance to meet with the children and discuss fire prevention and presented them with small gifts and stuffed animals. The children had an opportunity to explore our emergency response apparatus and ask questions along with meeting "Sparky" the fire prevention dog.
